Case 2 – Implant Removal with secondary Super Breast Lift

Reason for Seeking OC Breast Surgery Specialist
This 48-year-old South Orange County patient was very unhappy with the results of her previous surgery done by a surgeon not affiliated with OC Breast Surgery. From day one, she thought her implants were too big and did not like the way they looked. They had significant bottoming out. Upon exam it was determined that she was a good candidate for a breast revision with implant exchange and a secondary lift. After her consultation she needed time to think about it and when she came back to OC Breast Surgery for a reconsult. She was experiencing “weird intermittent” pain in her right breast. She decided that she would like to remove her implants. The surgeon determined that she had enough of her own natural tissue to remove the implant and still have a nice, balanced breast. They discussed a fat transfer to the upper breast pole for a soft, natural curve.

Prior to surgery, skin marks were placed on the patient in the standing position. The surgeon recommended leaving the capsule in place to help shape the breast after the implant had been removed and the patient agreed. After removing two intact implants, the surgeon cauterized and sutured the capsule to help support the surrounding breast tissue. Then he performed the triple dermal tightening technique per the Super Breast Lift. 60ml of fat was transferred to the upper breast pole to help fill them out and make them less concave. The patient was placed in a surgical support bra and skin tape placed over her incisions.

Post Op
At her first post-op appointment the next day, the patient was instructed to follow all post-op instructions and not do any activities to raise heart rate or blood pressure for two weeks. She was able to return to exercise after three weeks on a limited basis. Post-op photos taken two months after surgery. She was instructed to sit bare-chested in the sun for a few minutes each day to help with scar pigment.
