Case 4 – Implant Removal with Super Breast Lift
Breaking up with Implants

Reason for consulting with OC Breast Surgery specialist
This 36-year-old patient from Orange County, California had three prior breast surgeries and each time ended up with capsular contracture – hard, painful breasts. At the time of her consultation, she presented with a Grade 4 capsular contracture in her left breast that was causing significant pain. She decided that she only wanted one more surgery to remove her implants. During consultation the surgeon examined her breasts and determined that she would be a good candidate for implant removal with a lift. He recommended leaving the capsule in place to help support and shape the breasts.

Skin marks were placed with the patient in the sitting position prior to surgery. The surgeon removed a smooth, intact implant from the right side then tightened and centralized the capsule with cautery. When the surgeon entered the left capsule, he discovered loose silicone gel on the outside, the sign of an obvious rupture. The silicone gel was cleaned up and the capsule wiped clean then tightened with cautery. The surgeon proceeded with the triple dermal tightening and lifting techniques of the Super Breast Lift then placed her in a surgical bra for support and skin tape applied to her incisions.

Post Op
Post Op- photos were taken 7 months after surgery. The patient reported feeling “lighter on her feet” without the implant. She was very happy with the results and her decision to remove her implants.
